"In her literary debut, author Deborah Sherrell has triumphed. She has crafted a touching love story, full of innocence and heart, mystery and tragedy, and one walloping twist that will certainly have readers talking. She has done all of this in a children's book. Don't worry, the love story is a tale of genuine affection between a girl and a tree, her favorite tree that lives next door. Without becoming heavy-handed or politically predictable, the author comments on the preciousness of nature and its importance to our very lives. She achieves the balance between promoting her cause and respecting the reader's right to make up her own mind by expressing a love of nature as seen through the eyes of the girl. Let me not mislead you: this is a children's book, a picture book, filled with colorful images (wonderfully illustrated by Danielle Larripa and artfully colored and designed by Carl Gordon). But like all good children's books, there is more to it than meets the child's eye. There's something there for the young reader's mind, heart and soul. If you love a child and would like to encourage that child to love nature, this is an excellent reader to buy."

"I was working at one of the local bookstores when Deborah came in with her children's book, "Baby Lauren and Theodore". The owner of the store (who was rushing out) stopped and was mesmerized by the book. He grabbed it and couldn't stop reading it. I observed clairvoyantly gold energy activating his aura and energy centers. The owner then glanced at it again and his energy field got brighter still. I also noticed everyone else in the area received a similar blessing.

There are books that are so blessed the more one reads them the more spiritual energy comes down into the reader. This book is one of them and was written by an angel. I highly recommended this book for the energy as well as the insight it brings."

" I reviewed Ms. Deborah Sherrell's new book of  Baby Lauren and Theodore  and was pleased to know our children will learn about the environment and the basic science of our Mother Earth. I am planning for this book to be taught to our Orphans through satellite and Ariana Afghan Television in our Orphan Centers in Afghanistan."

"My favorite thing about this book is when she says I love music. The funniest thing I like in this story is when they are in bathing suits under Theodore. I learned that being friends with a tree is very fun."
